Westminster Abbey

	Westminster Abbey, London GSB and Time Team visited Westminster Abbey, in a very rainy September. Perhaps one of the most iconic sites the team have visited so far - apart from Buckingham Palace! Westminster Abbey was largely built by Henry III in the 13th century and has been used as a burial place for royalty for over 500 years. Time Team were invited here to search for the lost sacristy - a room which would have housed some of the abbey's treasures!
		What we found The footprint of the original 13th century Sacristy was recorded, including a possible cross-wall and some burials. Other features were seen within the radar results but the number of utility services which crossed the area hasn't helped in the interpretation. Time Team site Google Earth Placemark
