Want a Survey?

If you are considering contacting GSB Prospection regarding a survey, it's important to consider a number of issues to make sure the technology is correct for your needs and used in the right way. Several factors determine the suitability of a site for geophysical survey and the selection of the appropriate technique:
  • What is the minimum / maximum area for survey?
  • What is the ground cover? If pasture or set aside, how tall is the vegetation? If crop, what kind and how high is it?
  • Is the area heavily wooded?
  • Are there buildings or sheds within or adjacent to the proposed survey?
  • How does the topography vary within the area?
  • Is there any made up or disturbed ground?
Other information that would be helpful includes:
  • What are the geology and soils at the site?
  • Are any services or pipelines known to cross the area?
  • What points of access does the site have (for example, is it possible to get a vehicle into the area)? This can assist us with timetabling of the work.
For some techniques, the time of year for the survey may be important and GSB can advise the optimum period for the proposed work.
